Sunny Day Half Case Offer
2 Bottles of Each
This time around we're offering you a 6 pack sampler that focuses on Champagne that can be enjoyed casually. These three Champagnes are great picnic companions. They pair wonderfully with cheeses, fruit, nuts and other light fares that one might find in a wicker basket. And what better Champagnes to be enjoyed outside than those produced by Récoltant-Manipulants. Driven by passion for their product, these producers bottle and sell their wines under their own labels. There is a potential for high quality combined with good value, and wines that might reflect the terroir of small plots of land rather than standardized blends. Récoltant-Manipulant bottlings can be identified by an "RM" on the front label - R stands for Récoltant ( the literal translation is ‘Harvester’) M stands for Manipulant ( literally ‘Handler’). These “grower” champagnes account for just under 3 percent of the total Champagne market.
Georges Lacombe Rosé is made up of 60 % Pinot Noir, 20 % Chardonnay et 20 % Pinot Meunier. A blend of 80% year’s wine and 20% reserve wine. This champagne was matured for 24 months in Lacombe’s cellar and was dosaged at 10 g/L about 5 months before it was shipped to our store. Tawny salmon colored bubbly with a nose that recalls gardenias. It shows off a rich mouth feel and lots of juicy raspberry and strawberry fruit leading into a spicy finish.
This bottle lists for $75.00
The De Sousa et Fils Brut Tradition is 50% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Meunier and made with biodynamically grown grapes. In the glass the wine is a a textured gold color showing very fine beads. The champagne is smoky and toasty on the nose. Rich on the palate, it’s alive with firm apple fruit- some spiciness. This is a big mouthful, with a leafy finish.

The Michel Dervin Brut Non-Vintage Champagne is the only one we are offering that isn't a Récoltant-Manipulant. However, it is made out of 95% estate fruit from small plots in the villages of Cuchery, Damery, Reuil, and Chapelle Monthadon in the valley Marne. He also buys a little chardonnay from Pierry. This Champagne is white gold in color with a fine bead. The nose is floral and lightly spicy. It is very soft and honeyed on the palate. A pretty brut, with hazelnut notes and an ethereal texture. 80% Pinot Meunier to 20 % Pinot Noir. Just a pretty glass of bubbles. This bottle lists for $41.00
