Andre Clouet Grande Reserve Brut Champagne RM. Whole-grain bread, malt and candied berry aromas and flavors highlight this intense yet creamy Champagne, which picks up a floral accent as it cruises to a long, mouthwatering finish. 90 Points The Wine Spectator, October 2008. Silvery straw color with a light and juicy nose. Spicy and ripe on the palate, with pink grapefruit fruit. Steely and austere overall. D&M Tasting Notes. The NV Brut Grande Reserve offers up layers of mineral-infused red fruits on a silky, mid-weight frame, with gorgeous length and a refined, subtle mousse. This impeccable, elegant wine shows terrific overall balance as well as complexity. I loved it. Disgorgement: (unknown). Anticipated maturity: 2009-2014. 90 Points Antonio Galloni, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. Andre Clouet is based in Bouzy, a village where Pinot Noir speaks with great eloquence, as is evident in these superb, pedigreed Champagnes. RM or récoltant-manipulant. Driven by passion for their product, these producers bottle and sell their wines under their own labels. There is a potential for high quality combined with good value, and wines that might reflect the terroir of small plots of land rather than standardised blends. R stands for Récoltant ( the literal translation is ‘Harvester’) M stands for Manipulant ( literally ‘Handler’) These “grower” champagnes account for just under 3 percent of the total market. |
